Students are scheduled to come to the library every three weeks
during reading class in order to check out Accelerated Reader, Scholastic
Reading Counts, recreational and subject-related library materials. In addition,
students have access to the library every day at recess and with other subject
area classes.
Library, reference, and Internet searching skills will be taught to each
student in our school. Instruction will be given on the following topics
to help prepare students for the Iowa and LEAP Tests at each grade level:
- Library Orientation
- Dictionary
- Key Words
- Guide Words
- Online Catalog
- Card Catalog
- Bibliographies
- Indexes
- General Reference Sources
